2:30 P.M. Contacted Chase One via Satellite phone from Elliot Lake, Ontario, Ray, Jim Thornburn, Ray, Pat Lipinski and Betty and George Pattullo’s sleds are in the trailer, The rest of the group has over 130 miles to go yet today

On average there has been 2-4 txt / calls to/from “Chase One” coordinating logistics on where the group was or status of riders. Even tracked down the groups or Chase one at gas stops and hotels as needed.

The command center is ready to support the 23 riders scheduled to leave on Sunday, February 6th, 2011 from Searchmont, Ontario just north of Sault St. Marie, MI /ONT. As we all know snowmobiling is a dangerous activity, in fact one of the riders scheduled to ride in this years event was injured with broken ribs last weekend when another on-coming rider hit him and caused him to run into a tree. We feel it is critical to take all precautions and safety measures to successfully complete these adventures.

Pete P called, indicated he has talked Bob’s crew into going to find Group 3. Pete indicated new snow has obscured previous tracks for Group 3, making headway very difficult.

Update: Spoke to Ross River. They are NOT sending crew out. Said trail gets better, they know where Group 3 is having difficulty and there’s not much they can do for them. Tough it out, the trail will get better within 10 miles.

Called Dave’s Sat w/o answer; sent TXT with this info.

Crew dispatched from Ross River to guide Group 3 the remainder. Spoke with Bob in Ross River; Spoke with Pete P who also spoke with Bob. Left message on Dave T’s sat phone with information.
